Do you offer a discount for registering early?
Yes, we’re offering early bird pricing—25% off the registration price—through Thursday, December 10, 2026. The discount will automatically be applied during registration, and no promo code is required.
What is the refund policy?
Please contact TAMEST by email to request a refund. Service and processing fees will be deducted from the final refund amount. The last day to request a refund is Monday, January 28, 2027.
For cancellations after January 28 due to weather or health issues, you may either transfer your ticket to another person or transfer your registration to the TAMEST 2028 Annual Conference.
If I request a refund, how much is deducted from the final refund amount?
Eventbrite’s service and processing fees are deducted from the final refund amount. The fee structure is listed below:
- Service fee: 3.70% + $1.79 per ticket
- Processing fee: 2.90% per order
Do I need to print my Eventbrite ticket or confirmation email for event check‑in?
No. TAMEST maintains a list of registered attendees, so you do not need to print your Eventbrite ticket or confirmation email to check in at the conference.
Please be prepared to present a valid form of ID for check-in.
Will I receive a receipt for registering?
In many cases, the order confirmation email you receive when you register will be enough to prove a purchase. To find it, search your email inbox for an email from “noreply@order.eventbrite.com.” If you need additional information for proof of purchase or your order confirmation email resent, contact TAMEST by email or by phone at (512) 471-3823.
What are the registration rates for the TAMEST 2027 Annual Conference?
The registration rates for the TAMEST 2027 Annual Conference are as follows:
- Members: $125
- Protégés: $75
- Member Institutions: $200
- Non-Members: $350

Who qualifies for the Member rate?
TAMEST members represent all Texas members of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), National Academy of Engineering (NAE), National Academy of Sciences (NAS), Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, Academy of Medical Sciences and the state’s Nobel Laureates.
TAMEST members and their spouses are eligible for the Member registration rate. The Member rate is also available to presidents and chancellors of TAMEST member institutions, past recipients of the O’Donnell Awards, Mary Beth Maddox Award and Hill Prizes, as well as 2026–2027 Hagler Fellows and CPRIT Scholars.

Who qualifies for the Protégé rate?
TAMEST members may invite one early-career researcher, within 15 years of their first academic appointment or professional position, to join them at the conference as a protégé.
Once a TAMEST member has nominated a protégé, TAMEST staff will email the protégé with registration instructions. Protégés qualify for the discounted Protégé registration rate; select the “Protégé” category when registering.

Who qualifies for the Member Institution rate?
Leadership, faculty, staff and students of TAMEST member institutions (see list of TAMEST member institutions below) qualify for the Member Institution registration rate. Past Hagler Fellows, who are not TAMEST members, are also eligible for the Member Institution rate. Select the “Member Institution” category to register for the event.

Who qualifies for the Sponsor rate?
Organizations and individuals sponsoring the TAMEST 2027 Annual Conference qualify for a set number of complimentary registrations. The number of complimentary registrations is dependent on the sponsorship package selected. If you are a sponsor for the event, TAMEST staff will contact you with registration instructions. During the registration process, you’ll be asked to list the organization or individual associated with your sponsor registration. What is the TAMEST Protégé Poster Challenge?
TAMEST protégés are invited to participate in the Protégé Poster Challenge—an exclusive opportunity to showcase groundbreaking research to Texas’ top scientists, engineers and industry leaders at the TAMEST 2027 Annual Conference. Protégés will be invited to submit poster abstracts from October 1 to December 10, 2026. All protégés are invited to display their poster at the conference, with select posters judged in person and four finalists invited to present their research on stage to the full conference audience.
TAMEST staff will reach out to registered protégés with information on participating in the poster challenge.
Is there a discounted room rate for the InterContinental Houston?
Yes. Book your hotel room at the InterContinental Houston by Thursday, January 7, 2027, to receive the discounted group rate of $189.00 a night, plus taxes (based on availability). To reserve your room online, click here. For reservations that begin on Monday (02/01) or later, please adjust the dates before booking your room. The $20/night amenity fee listed online will be waived upon checkout at the hotel. Rooms are likely to sell out, so early booking is recommended.

Where is the opening reception?
A special opening reception will take place on the evening of Monday, February 1, 2027, in the Live Oak Ballroom at the InterContinental Houston, located at 6750 Main St, Houston, TX 77030.
What attire do you recommend for the annual conference?
We recommend wearing business or business casual attire to the opening reception on Monday, February 1, and business or business formal attire to the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Awards Dinner on Tuesday, February 2.
Business or business casual dress is recommended for conference programming during the days of February 2 and February 3.
